As if struck by lightning, they dance euphorically, long deprived of their strength. Their bodies beg for relaxation but they find no peace. "When I had sex with Madonna I felt good for a moment. (...) She had been singing about me all her life." (Thomas Melle, bipolar writer)

In this contemporary dance performance for three dancers, Berlin-based choreographer Chris Jäger approaches the topic of the socially tabooed bipolar disorder in its physicality. Also called manic-depressive illness, bipolar disorder is one of the most common mental illnesses in Germany and often puts people who are diagnosed with it in precarious situations. 

How does a manic body move and how does a depressive body move? The tension between mania and depression in a one-person, which sheerly tears body and mind apart, is the core of this choreographic confrontation.
