German-Polish Theatre Festival on Contemporary Polish Theater Plays

Six performances from Poland and Germany were presented - the framework was provided by audience discussions with Polish authors on the state of cultural policy in Poland.

With a German-Polish Virtual-Reality-Projekt that can be experienced as a 3D film with VR glasses (Sztynort 1935), a performative reading in which the audience who reads instead of actors ("Hannah Arendt liebt mich nicht”), an outdoor performance from Krakow with elements of object and puppet theatre for adults (Parallels) or a road trip in Toyota of a funeral parlour through today's Poland (“Eine unendliche Geschichte”) the theatre festival Um Poland offers an exciting and varied overview of contemporary drama in Poland, both in terms of content and form.

In addition, the play “Der Koffer”, which premiered in June 2020 and about which the FAZ writes: "In bright light, Rolf Kemnitzer's magical interpretation is able to reveal the secrets of the play and yet preserve them.
